Special Event: “Ghazal Music Night” Held in Mashhad
The Immigrants Art House of Khorasan Razavi, in collaboration with the Amir Khusrow Balkhi Cultural and Artistic Foundation, hosted two special music programs titled “Ghazal Music Night”, warmly attended by enthusiasts of Afghan music.
The first event in this series was held on Tuesday, January 8, 2025, featuring performances by Navid Nadem (vocalist), Wahid Herawi (tabla player), and Wahid Delahang (rubab player).
The director of the Immigrants Art House stated that the purpose of these artistic sessions is to familiarize the younger generation of migrants with authentic Afghan music, particularly the ghazal style. He emphasized that promoting this genre can play a vital role in preventing youth from turning to low-quality and vulgar music.
Second “Ghazal Music Night” Titled “Didam Ke Hanoz Ham Ramazan Dar Pesh Ast O Yar...“
The second “Ghazal Music Night”, held in honor of the holy month of Ramadan, took place on Saturday evening, February 29, 2025, under the title “Didam Ke Hanoz Ham Ramazan Dar Pesh Ast O Yar...“.
During the event, Navid Nadem performed songs inspired by Ramadan from the late master Ustad Sarahang, the crown jewel of Afghan music. Accompanied by Wahid Herawi (tabla) and Shahab Hussain (rubab), the vocalist created a heartfelt atmosphere for the audience. Like the first event, this program was held at the Immigrants Art House of Khorasan Razavi.
These two special programs represent a valuable example of the cultural efforts by the Immigrants Art House and the Amir Khusrow Balkhi Cultural and Artistic Foundation to preserve and promote the authentic culture and art of Afghanistan among migrant generations. They reflect the deep connection between art and cultural identity within this community.
