Performance by Amir Khusrow Balkhi Foundation Artists at the Ceremony Honoring Top Technical and Vocational Professionals with the Presence of UN Officials in Geneva and Tehran

At the special ceremony titled “Honoring the Top Trainees and Instructors of Technical and Vocational Courses” held on Wednesday, January 24, 2025, at the conference hall of the Eram Technical and Vocational Center, attended by high-ranking government and international officials—including representatives from the United Nations in Geneva, the UN Refugee Agency in Tehran and Mashhad, the Ministry of Interior’s Department of Foreign Nationals and Immigrants Affairs, and the Technical and Vocational Organization of Iran—the musical segment was performed prominently and impressively by the artists of the Amir Khusrow Balkhi Foundation.

Special Event: “Ghazal Music Night” Held in Mashhad

The Immigrants Art House of Khorasan Razavi, in collaboration with the Amir Khusrow Balkhi Cultural and Artistic Foundation, hosted two special music programs titled “Ghazal Music Night”, warmly attended by enthusiasts of Afghan music.
These two special programs represent a valuable example of the cultural efforts by the Immigrants Art House and the Amir Khusrow Balkhi Cultural and Artistic Foundation to preserve and promote the authentic culture and art of Afghanistan among migrant generations. They reflect the deep connection between art and cultural identity within this community.

Women’s Music

One of the core and prominent programs of the Amir Khusrow Balkhi Cultural and Artistic Foundation in the field of music has been creating a suitable environment for the activity and education of women, especially in the domain of authentic and traditional Afghan music. This segment of the artistic community, due to cultural and social limitations and barriers, requires special support and dedicated platforms to nurture and showcase their talents.

World Refugee Day | Conference on Afghanistan’s National Music Day

On the occasion of World Refugee Day 2022, a conference titled “Watan-e-Mehr” (Affection for Homeland) was held on June 20, 2022, at Mashhad City Hall. The event was organized by BAFIA, UNHCR in Mashhad, and Afghan community organizations based in the city.

On the occasion of World Refugee Day, the Amir Khusrow Balkhi Foundation organized the first “Afghanistan National Music Day” conference as part of the “Watan-e-Mehr” exhibition, with the aim of preserving and reviving the art of music that has been banned in Afghanistan.

“From Neyshabur to Balkh”

“From Neyshabur to Balkh” was the title of a cultural event held on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, by the Amir Khusrow Balkhi Foundation, in collaboration with the Music Center of Ferdowsi University, at the Ghadir Cultural Center.

Sayed Mohammad Hakim Balkhi, The head of the Amir Khusrow Balkhi Foundation, who has been leading the organization for many years with the mission of preserving Afghanistan’s rich cultural heritage for a generation born in Iran and neighboring countries, stated:
“There is a growing need to introduce and promote authentic Afghan culture and art. This calls for occasional gatherings featuring Afghan and Iranian artists across various fields.”
